Is the Foundation a nonprofit organization?
Yes. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designated by the Internal Revenue Code.
Do you have chapter organizations?
No. The Foundation is located in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and does not have chapters. Our research and fundraising efforts, however, stretch across the country and around the world. The organization is also registered in the capital city Nairobi, Kenya.
How much money has the Foundation raised so far?
We have raised approximately $32,000 so far. This money was solely used for the payment of the land and a portion of the facility. With your generosity we will be able to provide for more than just a roof over these childrens heads.
How much of the money donated actually goes to the facility and children?
Currently 100% of the money donated goes directly to the facility and children. The other operating cost come from volunteer efforts.
How can I make a donation?
Right now probably the easiest and fastest way to donate is through the website – Paypal. This is a secure and safe way to donate.
Can I make a donation in honor or in memory of someone?
Certainly, currently one of our best supporters is donating in honor of her late mother-in-law. If you would like us to honor that person by name please let us know and we can publish that name on the site or we can discuss honoring them another way.
Are there any corporate matching gifts and how can I make one?
We are currently looking to create a program that would involve corporation matching funds.
Can I raise money for the Foundation?
We certainly welcome any ideas on raising funds for the organization. If you are interested please contact us by email through this site.
What kinds of fundraisers have you held?
We have had an auction and we will have some concerts this year. We will be looking to do a number of fundraisers this year. Until now most of the donations have beeen from word of mouth.
Can I come to a fundraiser?
Not all of the fundraiser will be open to the public. But, we intend to have some concerts and other events that will be open to all that would like to attend. These events will be posted on the website – check back regularly.
Can I volunteer?
We are always looking for active participants and as we create more programs and fundraisers we will be looking for help in these events. We will post on the site that we are looking for help or you can contact us.
Are you receiving any grants?
No. We are in the process of creating a grant proposal and will be applying for grants this year.
Why not help children here in the states?
Our decision to be involved in this cause was a result of a little girl named Faith who needed our help. We did not choose this cause over other causes, but we were given an opportunity to help someone and we took it.
How did you come up with the name Footprints of Faith?
Well, it was fairly simple. The little girl that the foundation started with is named Faith and it was the path that led to her that inspired us and the name of the foundation.
Where is Rangala, Kenya?
Kenya is located in East Africa and Rangala is a rural village in west Kenya near Lake Victoria.
