About Us
The Footprints of Faith Foundation is a US 501(C) (3) non profit organization that provides shelter, upkeep and loving care for orphaned and abandoned children in Rangala, Kenya. The Foundation was established in the United States in 2008 and has a subsidiary organization in Nairobi, Kenya.
Our founder, Paul Odwesso, an orphan himself growing up in this small rural area of Kenya was provided an opportunity to help these children who have been faced with a similar fate as he. Paul was fortunate enough to have loving siblings to care and provide for him, but many of these children do not. Many of these children become orphaned due to aids and other diseases common to this area. This is a growing problem in the entire country of Kenya and without our love and help many of these children will die. The development of our organization has brought a sense of hope to the area.
Our Mission
The mission of the Footprints of Faith Foundation is to improve the lives of orphans in Kenya by providing them with a loving home, stable environment, medical attention, a good education, and leadership and personal development programs to maximize their potential.
Work and develop a trusting relationship with the community, as well as facilitate, contribute, and promote solutions to bring about enrichment and social change.
How We Got Started – The Story
In December 2004, I went on a trip to Kenya to visit my family. My brothers accompanied me from Nairobi, the capital city to the rural village where I grew up. We had gone to visit my sister who still lives there. We would often take a stroll around to stretch our legs in the evenings and to visit with various people around the village.
It was during one of those night strolls that I would have an encounter that completely changed my life.
